PRIME TIME! THE SEARCH FOR A GREAT PRIMER

"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I SCREAM, as I look at my complexion and wish-
and wish and wish for a product that I can put on and gives me such a smooth complexion
with out so much FUCKING work.
-at-last maybe that magical penny I picked up chanting " I found a penny, picked it up pit in my pocket forever I shall have good luck"

PRIMER- to the rescue.

In my history of being a makeup artist I have not found the need to use a primer-I have also been blessed to work on some of the smoothest and cared for faces YAY! I always found that a good cleansing-toning-moisturizing and some great brushes always gave me that look-for my time framed photo shoot.

MY cousins Susan and Lily are fans of primer and I did always wonder how their skin all of a sudden looked so great maybe it was Susan's Shu Uemura Skin care or Lily's' Giorgio Armani and maybe it was with the assistance of the Philosphy Brand Primer with SPF, only available in the united states, but Sephora online has it and that is how you can get it.

So my search went on and on. On my recent trip to Vancouver I talked to a few specialist including one very handsome man at the Armani counter in Holt Renfrew on the ever changing GRANVILLE STREET.

My Shu Uemura Goddess Lori suggested I try the Armani Primer-"fluid master"
and the good looking Giorgio Armani counter guy also suggested it "because I am using their amazing foundation which was also the choice of the movie TWILIGHT". The lady who was at Armani was a real fucking bitch so I decided to come back the next day-
I also hit up Sephora, I was shown:
Philosophy "The Present" not my favorite-it was nice and I followed the directions about the waiting 2 minutes part but still it just felt like a light moisturizer-not much smoother looking.
Clinique: SPF 25- the makeup artist whom educated the sales associate let her now that this made a great primer-it is slightly tinted which I enjoyed because I could see where I applied this combo.
The product was thick and had a strong scent even before I applied it to my face. I started off on my nose area and found the scent to be not my style so I washed that bitch off and tried my next item. PRO- it is a no chemical sunscreen-maybe when I am not so sensitive I'll go back to this prodcut but its also oil free and helps to absorb oil-WOOO HOOOO! o.k.-I'll give it one more chance.
At Holt-I always had a curriosity about NARS products-"Nars is famous for their blush and eye-shadows not their skin care or foundations" one makeup artist said.
The primer called "the primer" accompanied me back to my hotel with a foundation to go along. The primer was light and glided smooth with little to no fragrance but I didn't feel that my face was smoother. I than applied the foundation color she gave-me although she didn't try it on my face-it matched perfectly (Holt Renfrew Vancouver has a color studio-don't know what that is- it just sounds cute)-I was told that my skin looked the same as if I didn't have anything on-YAY! BUT BUT BUT-I wanted to have that goal PLUS I wanted it to look completely smooth-which was my main goal that wasn't achieved. I am hoping to try out THE PRIMER-with SPF.
NEXT UP-
The Armani primer was a runny see through substance it felt like a thick gel/water combo. The feeling of my skin after was great-it felt completely smooth- I think its pure silicone not sure but feels like it. Tania my BFF told me that my skin already looked as smooth as it felt and with foundation even smoother. WOOHOO! but with how small the container was-was I ready to shout out all this cash for a slightly better complexion-so far NO.

The Search continues-but atleast Armani is out their.

MASCARA MASCARY-Edmonton Makeup Artist

I am glad that I have so many well opinion-ed girl friends, for with out them it would be so hard to try all the different products-the beauty lord has set up-on all of us.

It is difficult to sample certain items like foundation because were all different shades, with the exception of mascara or eyeshadow.

A lot of people believe that you shouldn't share your mascara-but if you purchase little spoolies- available at "Sallys" beauty supply or save your fave brushes from your mascara and try out your friends favorite lash intensifier.
Sengchou- my best friend has some lash difficulty as do I. Her lashes are not too short-not too long but they fall flat and wont hold a curl. Her secret recipe is:

1) eye lash curler something that is not fully curved but has as slight straight edge.

2)WATER PROOF Cover Girl Mascara-

3) finally a single coat of a mascara of your choice.

My cousin Susan and I love the look of thick BITCH BLACK eye lines. I believe the Main key to that is a generous coating of an ultra sleek black mascara.

Susan recently hast tried the Givenchy Mascara (. The ball on the end of it is a little intimidating-it looks like a bomb from that game Minesweeper. Her only advice is to let it fully dry and you do need makeup remover to get this off. I enjoy thje finish-the products dries with a mild mild mild shine her preference is still BlackOut by Dior both for finish and Drying time. Not only is it ultra black but the drying time is not too long and it is a buildable masacara meaning Phat or Slim lash looks are completley in your control. Susan Is a fan-atic about Maybeline. She has yet to meet a masacar from them that she has not liked. Now keep in ming this Bitch has long thick eyelashes-so if thats you too then follow her name on the blog and maybe you will find your cosmetic match too.
http://www.sephora.com is where we purchased these products

I have been reading numerous reviews about YSL Masacara in waterproof-and have heard AMAZING stories about this product. It deffinatley stays on the flaking is different from others and ZERO SMUDGE. I really enjoy the thick black look and this definatley helps my achieve the look especially when I have to blend in falsies. BUT! I donèt use the brush provided I use spoolies because of how many faces I do, I tried the brush on my self-I enjoy after I put a slight crecent moon curve into it. Susan has also tried this prodcut in waterproof and has had good success-BUT! we do get the odd flaking not on our face BUT! in our eyes and it is so irritating.
I purchased this product from THE BAY www.thebay.com

THIS JOE IS NOT SO AVERAGE! EDMONTON MAKEUP ARTIST

So, I am always looking for a great bargain.

My savy friend was checking out the JOE FRESH cosmetic line

sold at SUPERSTORE which had caught her attention:

WAS IT PRICE OR PACKAGING?

it is usually price than packaging.

Nothing is more than TWELVE DOLLARS CND. and the packaging is extremely simple.

one thing I wish is that their were some testers availble for the skin colors

and that there would have of been a waterproof or resistant mascara.

URGH!
I purchased four items:

Creme Foundation in LIGHT 3 and LIGHT 2.

Cheek tint in Peach.

Cheek tint in Nude.

I enjoyed the PINK and MILD YELLOW tones that have worked great for my models and my self.

My photographer KLYMENT TAN-uses such detailed cameras that pick up everything.
So my products must always look smooth.
I am not a fan of my work being airbrused-so I make sure my product finishes are optimal.

HD-THIS PRODUCT WAS SAFE! HOLLAR

  • Light 3 is great for my winter complexion-but now I am a summer.

the CHEEK TINTS are not too cremy the texture is like a melted crayon.

PEACH CHEEK TINT I used on my cousin Lily for her wedding day on her fair porceline skin giving her her that cranberry kissed winter glow. I used Nude-a highlighter that is shimmery and has a metalic like finish just above her cheek bones to fill out her face just a tad.

---The makeup lasted all night-although she has said that she has never had a problem with makeup coming off.

Below is a picture of Whitney J Grace an Extremely talented actor that I had the pleasure of working with for her latest head shot. Shot by Klyment Tan. I used Era Face R2, Joe fresh creme foundation Light 2, Lips by Rimmel, eyes Coastal Scents, Mascara YSL .
